B League Summer 2026 Champions

Sweater Puppies Crowned B League Champions!

CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT BELONGED TO THE PUPPIES! Sweater Puppies came into the biggest game of the season and delivered a statement performance, dismantling Shooting Blanks 9–3 to capture the SAHL B League Championship. With everything on the line, the Puppies left no doubt about who deserved to skate away with the chip.

Shooting Blanks briefly threatened to spoil the party, striking first when Christian Wenger opened the scoring. But the Puppies responded immediately, and Haden People took over, scoring twice to swing the momentum. Logan Buch added a late first-period goal, sending the Puppies into the break with a 3–1 advantage.

The second period is where the championship started slipping away from Shooting Blanks. Brendan Fergus made it 4–1 before Buch caught fire, burying two more goals to complete his hat trick and stretch the lead to 6–1. The Puppies were rolling, and Blanks desperately needed an answer that never came.

Sweater Puppies kept their foot on the gas in the third. Reece Wilson pushed the lead to 7–1, and although Andrew Walter and Travis Weaver managed to find the net for Blanks, T.J. Sinchak and Fergus answered to put the finishing touches on the blowout.

When the final horn sounded, the scoreboard read Sweater Puppies 9, Shooting Blanks 3. Buch's hat trick and People's two-goal performance helped power a championship-winning effort, but this was a complete team performance from start to finish.

The job is done. The Puppies are champions. After battling their way through the playoffs, Sweater Puppies finish the season on top of B League and take home the SAHL championship chip! 🏆
