Kicking off our 2026 Fall Season

🏒 SAHL FALL 2026 SEASON KICKOFF 🏒

Welcome back, everyone, to the Skateaway Adult Hockey League (SAHL) Fall 2026 season! We’re excited to get another season underway and look forward to seeing everyone out on the rink competing for a championship!

🆕 Welcome to the SAHL Family!

We’re excited to welcome some new teams to the league this season!

● Black Top Bandits – C Division

● Reading FA – B Division

● Nillas – A Division

We’d also like to give a special welcome back to the Flying Squirrels in C Division! It’s great to have you guys back, and we’re happy to see you returning to the league!

🏆 Playoff Format Changes

We’re making some changes to our playoff format moving forward. Unless a division has only four teams, all playoff games will be one game and done, with the exception of the finals, which will remain a best-of-three series.

Here’s how the playoffs will work this season:

B Division

● 4th vs. 5th in a one-game play-in.

● One-game semifinals.

● Winners advance to the finals, which will be a best-of-three series.

C Division

● 7th place will not qualify for the playoffs.

● 3rd vs. 6th and 4th vs. 5th will play one-game playoff matchups.

● Winners advance to the one-game semifinals.

● The semifinal winners advance to the finals, which will be a best-of-three series.

These changes are intended to keep the playoffs competitive and exciting, with every game carrying extra importance!

💰 Team Fees & Payment Policy

Captains, please make sure your team is paid in full by your third game.

If your team is not paid in full by that point, the game will not be played and will be counted as a forfeit until the team’s balance is paid in full. Please plan accordingly so we can keep the season running smoothly for everyone.

⚠️ Updated Forfeit Rules

We’re also making a change to how forfeits affect attendance.

● If your team forfeits a game, that game will not count toward your team’s attendance.

● The game will count toward the opposing team’s attendance.

Please do your best to communicate with your teammates and make sure your team is ready to play each scheduled game.

Let’s Have a Great Season!

As always, we appreciate everyone who continues to make the SAHL a great league. We’re looking forward to another competitive season, some great hockey, and a lot of fun along the way!

If you have any questions or concerns about the new playoff format, payment policy, or forfeit rules, please reach out.

Good luck to all the teams this season, and let’s get rolling!
